Hi again!
We have finished our rather long day at MD Anderson in Houston and there isn't much new news to report. After meeting with the doctors Mom was sent for blood work and some extra chest X-rays (to further definitively rule out tumors in the chest and lungs) and some X-rays of her hip so they could have a better picture of her tumor.
We will be leaving Houston tomorrow morning and be in Baton Rouge for Christmas (Yay!!). On December 26 we will return to Houston so that Mom can have a consultation on the 27th and a fine needle biopsy on the 28th. The fine needle biopsy will allow the doctors to determine if her tumor is benign or malignant and what type of cancer it is. The doctors feel that the biopsy is necessary to determine the course of future treatment. Results from the biopsy will take several days, and until we get those we won't know exactly what the future will hold in terms of treatment.
In the mean time we are looking forward to spending Christmas with family and friends at home in Baton Rouge and are still hoping and praying for good news after the biopsy and the tests today. I hope you all have a wonderful holiday season!
Best,
Meghan

Meghan,
I am thankful that you and Georgia will be home for Christmas - I think several rounds of hugs are in order. I am praying like crazy for a good treatment plan and for your mom to be at ease throughout this whole crazy process. Your family obviously means a lot to us, so please be sure to lean on any/all of us when you need support!
Love, Jennie B.
